Life Alert is an alarm button you wear, connected to a response center. I'm Alive works the other way round: you tap once a day, and if you don't, the people you chose are told. Premium is $29.99 a year, with nothing to wear.
Set up in a few minutes: choose your plan, create your account, then install the app to start checking in.
I'm Alive alerts the people you choose. It is not an emergency service or a medical device, and it does not call 911.
If falls are the main worry, or you need trained staff to answer within minutes, day or night, a monitored alarm does that job and I'm Alive does not. I'm Alive covers a quieter worry: that a day could pass and nobody would know. Some families use both.
