How we build for access
VoiceOver labels across the safety flows
Check-in, SOS, trips and emergency contacts are labeled for VoiceOver, so a screen-reader user can hear what each control does and operate it.
One large action, minimal navigation
The core experience is a single large primary button. There's no maze to navigate — the thing you need most is the biggest, simplest thing on screen.
44-point tap targets
Interactive controls meet a minimum 44-point size, so they're reachable with limited dexterity, tremor, or without precise aim.
Large, high-contrast text
Copy is set large and high-contrast, designed to stay readable without squinting.
Reduced-motion support
When you turn on Reduce Motion, the app and site quiet non-essential animation and pulses.
Works with your system accessibility
Built on standard mobile controls that cooperate with voice control, switch access and screen magnification, rather than fighting them.
What we’re still improving
We hold ourselves to the same honesty rule as the rest of the product: we describe what ships, not badges we haven’t earned. We’re still expanding full dynamic-text reflow to the largest sizes and working toward a formal accessibility audit. Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we improve it based on real feedback from the people who rely on it.

Yes. The core safety flows — daily check-in, SOS, trips and emergency contacts — carry VoiceOver labels so they can be operated by screen-reader users. We're continuing to expand and refine this coverage.
Is the app usable with limited dexterity or vision?
Yes. The primary action is a single, large button with a minimum 44-point tap target, and the interface uses large, high-contrast text with minimal navigation — a light tap anywhere on the button works.
Does it work with switch access, voice control or magnification?
Yes. I'm Alive uses standard mobile controls that work with your phone's built-in accessibility features, including voice control, switch access and screen magnification.
Does I'm Alive respect Reduce Motion?
Yes. Both the app and this website honor your system Reduce Motion setting, replacing non-essential animation with a calmer, static presentation.
