What you can't say about us
This is a safety product for people who live independently. Copy that overstates what it does is worse than no copy at all, because somebody may rely on it. These four rules are a condition of the program, not a suggestion.
That I’m Alive guarantees anyone’s safety or replaces emergency services.
Fear-led claims about falls, dying alone or “being found days later”.
That someone is protected before they’ve finished setup.
Anything without an #ad or affiliate disclosure.
Two of those deserve an explanation. We do not market passive phone activity as confirmation that somebody is safe — a phone being used tells you about a phone, and we will not let a reader believe otherwise. And we do not describe the watch app as Apple's own fall detection; it is our own motion-based detector, and calling it anything else would be a claim Apple makes and we do not.
What you're actually recommending
I'm Alive is a daily check-in. One tap says the person is okay. If the tap does not come, they get reminded; if it still does not come, the contacts they chose are messaged by push, email and text. That is the whole promise, and it is a promise about a message arriving, not about anybody being rescued.
The free account includes one emergency contact and a daily check-in, and it does not expire. Stay Connected is a $4.99 one-time purchase. Protect Me is $29.99 a year and raises the cadence to as many as two check-ins a day. Protect Me On The Move is $39.99 a year, goes to three a day, and adds an AI voice call to the escalation. A three-year option is planned alongside the annual one, with one year staying the default; its price has not been set, so please do not quote one.
There is no hardware, no monthly hardware rental and no pendant to lose. That matters for your readers because the alternative they are usually comparing against is a monitored medical alarm at roughly $240 to $600 a year in the US, and between NZ$676 and NZ$780 a year in New Zealand under the Work and Income accredited supplier scheme. We are an order of magnitude cheaper and we do considerably less. Say both halves of that sentence.
How this rate compares
We researched every published affiliate and partner program in this category on 23 September 2026. Here is what the two companies that actually publish a rate publish, so you can judge ours against something real.
| Program | Published rate | Window |
|---|---|---|
| Snug Safety (individual affiliate) | 10% recurring, first year | Code typed at signup |
| Alert1 (via Awin) | 20% commission | 90-day cookie |
| I'm Alive | 20% of the first payment | 60-day link window |
Snug and Alert1 figures as published on their own affiliate page and their Awin merchant profile respectively, accessed 23 September 2026. Most of this category publishes nothing at all: of eleven business-to-business partner pages we checked, none published a single commercial term.
Who this works for
Newsletters about caring for a parent
The reader is usually the adult child, several hours away, who has already had the conversation about moving and lost it. A daily check-in is the smallest thing they can put in place without taking anything away.
Writers on living alone
Solo living, a new city, night shifts, recovery after surgery. The product is bought by the person themselves as often as by a relative, and the free tier means the recommendation costs the reader nothing to try.
Diaspora and expat audiences
Check-ins are time-zone aware, so a daughter in London and a mother in Chennai both see the check-in against the right local morning rather than against a server clock.
Solo travel and outdoors
Trip check-ins on the move, with a higher cadence on the top plan. Note the honest limit: it needs a signal to check in, and you should say so rather than let readers assume otherwise.
Questions people ask before applying
Why only the first payment?
Every plan is annual, so a customer makes one payment in their first year anyway. 20% of that first payment is a rate we can keep paying: our top plan is $39.99 a year, and the closest peer in our category, Snug, publishes 10% recurring for the first year on a plan priced at $149.99. One customer, one commission keeps it simple. If the terms ever change, they change for new referrals, not retroactively.
What happens if my reader installs the app instead of using the website?
Your link is credited automatically when the reader creates their account or buys on our website within 60 days. A reader who only installs the phone app is not always matched to your link yet, so tell us — send the name or email they signed up with — and we credit the sale by hand after checking it.
Do you pay on refunds or chargebacks?
No. A purchase that is refunded or charged back inside the refund window earns nothing. That is why payouts wait for the refund window to close rather than paying on the day of the sale.
What does a referred reader actually get for free?
A free account with one emergency contact and a daily check-in. Nothing about the free tier is a trial that expires. The paid plans add cadence and channels: Protect Me at $29.99 a year, and Protect Me On The Move at $39.99 a year. There is also a $4.99 one-time tier. You can recommend the free app honestly and still earn when someone chooses to upgrade.
Is this the same thing as the Ambassador Program on the creators page?
Yes, the same terms. The creators page, this page and the partner program all pay 20% of the first payment from every customer you refer, with a 60-day link window. The pages differ in how we work with you, not in what we pay. You only need to apply once.
